  20. This zipfile contains an self-installing exe file vb5runt.exe.  
  21. Doubleclicking on this file will install or update the following 
  22. dll's in c:\windows\system.

  37. If you should happen to have a newer version that one of the files 
  38. in this collection, in most cases, the installation should prompt 
  39. you and ask you whether you wish to overwrite it or retain it.  If 
  40. you have a newer version that one of these, keep it and do not 
  41. overwrite.  Most of these are the very latest versions as of 9/1/98, 
  42. however.

  44. Another problem with the old vb5run.zip file that is available on 
  45. most of the large archives, is that it cannot overwrite Oleaut32.dll 
  46. if that file is in use by Windows, which it frequently is.  In that 
  47. case the installation will fail.  Vb5runt.exe solves this problem 
  48. by forcing a reboot while Windows updates the OLE Automation files.  
  49. Running the installation a second time after rebooting is necessary 
  50. to register the included OCX controls and complete the installation.

  52. All of these files are standard Microsoft Dynamic Link Library (DLL) 
  53. files and may be required for many different applications.

  56. Installation Instructions

  59. Extract this zipfile to a temp directory.  Then doubleclick on the 
  60. vb5runt.exe file which will begin the installation.  If your Ole 
  61. Automation files need to be updated, the installation will likely 
  62. prompt you to reboot the system while it updates these files.  You 
  63. will also be told that you will need to run the installation a second 
  64. time to complete the update process.

  66. All files in the temp directory may be deleted once the installation 
  67. is complete.
